Welcome to The Oregon Society of Medical Oncology
The Oregon Society of Medical Oncology (OSMO) was formed due to the ongoing challenges in oncology, to facilitate Oregon oncologists to work together as advocates for quality care for all Oregonians. OSMO was revitalized in 2006 under the hands of several important figures, including Dr. David Regan and Dr. Mark Seligman. It has been steadily gaining momentum towards its goal. As the President, along with the OSMO board members, I hope to continue to learn more about the complicated issues surrounding delivery of high quality oncology care, and to promote exchange of knowledge/ideas between colleagues in Oregon.
OSMO is now undertaking its membership drive and is preparing for the Spring 2011 Membership Meeting May 14, 2011 in Portland, OR.
There is considerable value to belonging to a strong organization that can speak on your behalf before policy makers and insurers. We are working hard to ensure quality oncology care, preserve research, and maintain fiscally responsible reimbursement. ~Anupama Kurup, MD

Your support through membership is critical to the continued advancement of OSMO interests: To identify and work to improve oncology practice issues that adversely affect patient access to cancer care; to act as a patient advocate to ensure that patients have access to the best available care; to support and encourage clinical research against cancer.
